New School Building Updates for October
There has been plenty of excitement already in the month of Oct as work is being done in the parking lot. Each week we are keeping you updated with verbal announcements at the end of worship. The plan is to make sure that people have access to the church for all Thursday & Sunday services. We ask that the small back parking lot be reserved for those with limited mobility until work is complete. Please see below for the tentative schedule.
Week of Oct 6 - removed existing asphalt and sidewalks, ran piping for the downspout connections, brought in stone as needed for new parking areas and sidewalks, ran power underground to feed the parking lot lights, surveyor laid out the new curb and gutter and sidewalks.
Week of Oct 13 - pour the new sidewalks, curb and gutters, pour light pole base, final grade for asphalt will be on Sat, Oct 18.
We’ll be laying the binder coat (the first 2.5" layer of asphalt) on Oct 24. The new front parking lot (Hwy K) can still be used for the parent/ teacher conferences that day. You can only enter/exit the parking lot from the Hwy K entrance/exit on Oct 24.
The final coat of asphalt on the entire parking lot will be done on Sat, Oct 25. No vehicle traffic in the parking lot at all that day.
We’ll be painting the lines in the parking lot on Oct 30. No vehicle traffic in the parking lot for at least the morning of the 30th.
